West Coast Governor's Agreement on Ocean Health.  On February 6, 2008, the City Council unanimously adopted Resolution No. 078-33 supporting the California, Oregon and Washington agreement endorsing the seven priority areas for ocean health.  With this action, the City of Arcata is the first West Coast City to formally adopt a resolution in support of this landmark agreement. Read More>
  

Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center Gets a New 3kW Solar Electric System.  On April 1, 2008, the City of Arcata celebrated "Fossil Fool Day" with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center, the new photovoltaic system will cover all electric usage at the facility and help the City avoid 2000 lbs of greenhouse gas emissions annually. Waterline Replacement on various Arcata City streets - March 31, 2008 through June 30, 2008. RAO Construction is schduled to replace water mains at locations listed on the Press Release, if problems are encountered contact RAO at 443-2118 or the Public Works Department at 822-5957

Arcata Police K-9 Trust Fund
- Interested community members are welcome to make a donation to the K-9 Trust Fund established for the purpose of purchasing a new K-9 Police Dog for the Arcata Police Department. For more information call 825-2566.
